The voting for the Statute Modifications finished yesterday and we would like to inform you of the results.
For the proposed change:
1. CURRENT: The Association is run by a board of 9 members elected for 4 years by the General Assembly (Article 15).
PROPOSED CHANGE: The Association is run by a board of 11 members elected for 4 years by the General Assembly (Article 15).
The results were:
Yes - 29
No - 11
Abstain - 2
For the proposed change:
2. CURRENT: Members already holding another post in an international chess federation cannot be elected to the Board.
PROPOSED CHANGE: Delete the whole sentence.
The results were:
Yes - 23
No - 15
Abstain - 4
These results mean that both proposed changes have been accepted and approved.
