ACP President Report 2018

Dear Colleagues,

This was arguably the most important year in the history of ACP. The year of a hard work, and the year of our success.

We have not only been proactive helping our members, cooperating with the best tournaments in the world and conducting our events, but for the first time ever ACP made a strong political statement and demanded a change within FIDE. Our vision, our ideas and our principles played an important role in the recent FIDE elections, and we are proud about our clear stand.

ACP General Assembly 2018

Dear Members,

We would kindly like to invite you to take part in our annual General Assembly, which will take place from 17 to 30 December.

On our dedicated page you will find all the information, including the President’s Annual Report and the ACP Financial Report, prepared by our Treasurer. Both are subject to your approval.

We would also like to inform you that in view of the recent changes in FIDE and the appointment of ACP Board Members on FIDE ruling positions, we will also have an Electoral General Assembly from 15 February 2019.

Changes In ACP

Dear ACP Members,

Recent developments in FIDE have caused the present ACP Board to believe its main purpose for the term has been fulfilled. ACP has always aimed to improve the situation of the professional chess players and we can now proudly say that we succeeded. The extent of our success is such that the current government of FIDE has accepted all ACP suggestions and has massively drawn from the current ACP Board for key posts in its own team.

Why ACP SUPPORTS Arkady Dvorkovich

A few weeks ago the ACP Board unanimously voted to support the candidacy of Arkady Dvorkovich for the FIDE presidency, an unprecedented stance in the history of our association. Never before had ACP supported any candidate, feeling that we should remain neutral in the political arena. However this could no longer be the case. Major problems require major, groundbreaking decisions.

ACP Supports Dvorkovich

Dear friends,

ACP Board has thoroughly discussed the forthcoming FIDE Presidential elections and unanimously voted to support the candidacy of Arkady Dvorkovich.

It is the first time ever ACP takes a stand and supports any candidate in any elections. This does not come lightheartedly: to the contrary, it is a consequence of the ever deteriorating situation in the chess world caused by the malfunctioning of the present FIDE leadership. We have repeatedly expressed our disagreement with many decisions taken by FIDE and we firmly believe it is time for drastic change.
